Crafting Your Affirmation:
Focus Your Attention With The End In Mind

When you create an affirmation, start with positive words based on what you intend to be and have.  Do not create an affirmation to avoid or resist a situation you do not want.

If you focus on what you do not want, you will attract what you do not want.  If you focus on what you do want, then you will attract what you want.  In other words, be careful on where you focus your attention.

Examples of affirmations also includes tips to focus on what matters.

There is value in seeing what you do not want so you can get clear on what you do want.  The key is to notice what you do not want and then let it move through you.

What does move through you mean?  Do not hang on to what you do not want.  Notice your thoughts and emotions and let them be there.  They will lessen in significance.  Then, re-evaluate the experience and situations you intend to have.

Keep your affirmations in the present tense as if you are experiencing the realization of  your intention.

If you put an affirmation in the form of I want… or I will…, you set the affirmation up to be sometime in undefined part of the future.  Tomorrow never comes as you live in the NOW.

Examples Of Affirmations

When reading about examples of affirmations, an important tip is to be present in the moment.  In this example, we have a person doing a yoga meditation.

Now I am going to give you a few examples of affirmations.  I am going to play with showing you how to turn what you do not want into what you want.   

If you are feeling tired or fatigued, you may think of an affirmation of “I am feeling less and less tired every day.”

If you take a look at that affirmation, what does it have you focus on?  You are focusing on feeling tired!

Instead of the above affirmation, try this:  “I am enthusiastic about life.”

Now, where is your focus?  You are focused on enthusiasm! 

Go through each affirmation.  How does each one feel?  Which one would you rather say?  Did you come up with any ideas of new actions that you can now take?

How about a few examples of affirmations for abundance, prosperity, and well-being? 

  • I am easily tapping into the abundance that surrounds me.
  • The contributions I am making come back to me 10-fold.
  • I am filled with life and vitality.
  • I am fulfilled by the contributions I make to the people around me.
